Bear on the Square is Seeking Leadership Volunteers

Bear on the Square Mountain Festival, which occurs in late-April, has lost some key leaders in our organization due to health problems and moves out of the area. We are seeking to fill two key leadership roles as outlined below, and also need Co-Chairs for various existing leadership roles to provide redundancy and continuity to the organization.
The mission of our 25-year old all-volunteer-run non-profit festival is a celebration and preservation of the art, music, storytelling and folkways of the southern Appalachian Mountains. This is a great Dahlonega tradition, which requires substantial community service support.
We are actively seeking an Auction Committee Chair to lead a group of experienced volunteers, which produces the big Friday night Auction and Dinner. We are also in need of a festival Administrator, in charge of maintaining communications between the festival and the city, county and state governments, issuing permit applications, booking and coordinating local law enforcement security personnel and other festival contractors.
If you are interested in a rewarding leadership role within a large, fun festival volunteer organization, which produces a truly great annual event for our city, please contact me. Thanks!
