Barefoot Hills will be shuttling guests to and from Lindbergh Station, hosting them the night before the eclipse, providing breakfast and unique experiences the morning of the eclipse and partnering with KAYA Vineyards for their viewing party and wine tasting.
Sunday, August 20
1:00 p.m. | Pick up @ Lindbergh station - This central location makes for a convenient pickup point for guests coming from Atlanta. Lindbergh station has easy access from two highways and one major city road with three parking decks and only $8 parking.
2:30 p.m. | Barefoot Hills check in
3:00 p.m. | Departure for Dahlonega - The local college, University of North Georgia, is hosting an event for the community to educate and excite those about “The Great American Eclipse.” The event is a collaboration between the astronomy and physics department and will be held in the Coleman Planetarium, between 1:00 - 5:00 p.m. Once it wraps up the campus is just steps from the downtown Dahlonega square. Guests are encouraged to explore the area, and enjoy the local dining options.

8:30 p.m. | Second pickup from downtown

7:00 a.m. | Departure - AM Guided Hike to Preachers Rock Vista - Fifteen minutes away from Barefoot Hills is Woody Gap. This is mile 20 of the famed Appalachian Trail, stretching from Springer Mountain, GA to Katahdin, ME. Our hike, however, is just a short 2 mile round-trip following the AT white blazes to our destination, Preachers Rock. Here a broad rock outcrop near the summit of Big Cedar Mountain opens visitors to beautiful mountain views.

8:00 a.m. | Morning Yoga - As an alternative to the AM Hike, we are also offering a morning yoga session on our back deck with our on staff yoga instructor.
12:45 p.m. | Departure - KAYA Vineyards Viewing Party - This is the newest vineyard on the Dahlonega Plateau, and one of the best places to view the eclipse. Built on a 1600 ft. ridge this vineyard is place on the edge of totality for this event. Your package with the Barefoot Hills comes with a ticket to the event - including a tasting of 4 estate grown wines, your eclipse viewings glasses, and other KAYA swag.
