Recent semi-finalists of the Eddie’s Attic 42nd Bi-Annual Songwriter’s Shootout, The Derringers are a folk family who strive to create music that feels and sounds like home, with musical roots stemming from Folk, Country, Indie, Hymns, and Old Spirituals. Featuring a blend of three part harmonies, guitar, and fiddle, the band is comprised of Josh Rene, Austin Demny, and Dahlonega native, Kristen Weller. Although they share no actual blood relation, this “folk family” of 3 strives to live, work, and create like a family. They bring in friends from time to time to contribute to their sound, and make every effort to cultivate an environment of fluid collaboration that always feels more like a family than a band. Having been likened to a combination of The Lone Bellow and The Civil Wars, The Derringers have an authentic sound and style that is both foot-stompingly infectious, and hauntingly true.www.thederringers.band
