Join women of Lumpkin County at our inaugural Inspire Civic Dinner for dinner and a conversation on "Leading with Guts & Grace" to explore the benefits of women embodying both guts and grace in leadership.
The purpose of Guts & Grace is to reconsider traditional definitions of women in leadership, shifting the paradigm of leadership to one that champions both masculine and feminine values - guts and grace - in order to change the nature of business and politics today and how men and women bring all of themselves to work.
The definition of successful leadership has been more associated with traditionally masculine traits (such as strength, assertiveness, and competitiveness), than with traditionally feminine ones (such as empathy, compromise, and intuition). Because of this, it is common for women to feel they have to emulate masculine traits in order to get ahead. However, one could argue that this old paradigm of leadership has often come at the expense of the environment, diverse peoples and the mental health of the workforce. But what if we could shift to a more sustainable paradigm of leadership, one that champions both masculine and feminine values— both guts and grace. How would this change the nature of business and politics today, and what would it mean for women (and men) to be able to bring all of themselves to work?
