The Lumpkin County Inaugural Future Festival will be a great opportunity for parents and their rising sixth graders to learn more about becoming a middle school student. The "Tailgate Themed" event will be held at the LCMS football field with hot dogs, chips, drinks, popcorn and more. LCMS band, athletics, and cheerleaders will help bring the "Indian Spirit" to the event and encourage our newest middle school students to be the gold! The event is divided into two distinct areas - parents and students. The student area will be hosted by the Lumpkin Youth Leadership Class of 2017 (all are 10th graders this year) as their spring service-learning project. The parent portion of the event will be hosted by LCMS.
Our new LCMS Principal will also be in attendance. Meet Mr. Matt Remillard during the festival!
Special sessions for parents will be led by middle school teachers to discuss grading procedures, communication venues, rules for students, parent pick up and drop off, textbooks and curriculum, and so much more.
Students will have an opportunity to practice the locks on sample lockers, talk with upper grade students, experience lots of fun at the tailgate, learn everything about extracurricular opportunities, how to find a bus, get a free t-shirt, and sign up for prizes.
Please mark your calendars for this exciting opportunity to help our students experience a successful transition to middle school!
