To bring you, “Healing With Nutrition”
This workshop will teach you how to help prevent sickness and disease with good nutrition. I believe when given the chance, the body can heal itself – even from disease, but it is certainly much easier to prevent disease than cure it. Get the skinny on fats: which ones we need and which we should avoid; which foods put the body into states of stress and inflammation; learn about digestive distress, causes and remedies. Hippocrates said, “Let food be thy medicine”, and Thomas Edison said, “The Doctor of the future will no longer treat the human frame with drugs, but rather will cure and prevent disease with nutrition.” We are the richest country in the world, yet we are the sickest. We will discuss why we are currently living in an obesity and disease epidemic and what we can do to avoid being one of the statistics. We will discuss food purchasing and how to prepare easy nutritious recipes at home. Lunch will be provided, and you will be able to sample many healthy foods that will meet your specific dietary needs. Optional: North Georgia Yoga will treat us to a sample of their beautiful, healing yoga classes, so come dressed to stretch and move if you would like to participate.
