The Georgia Fine Wine Alliance invites you to attend the 2nd annual
“Taste the Difference” wine highway weekend. What does “Taste
the Difference” mean? The members of the GAFWA are the only
association in Georgia dedicated to the true meaning of the word
TERROIR. The definition of Terroir is; the characteristic taste and
flavor imparted to a wine by the environment in which it is produced.
Our members believe this can only be achieved by producing wines from
100% Georgia Farmed Grapes. The Alliance also believes that wines
labeled with a Georgia Appellation should also be made with 100%
Georgia Farmed Grapes and any wine containing grapes from outside the
state, be labeled as American Wine. For more information on the
Georgia Fine Wine Alliance, please visit our website at www.GAFWA.org
Visitors during this two weekend event, will
enjoy a wine tasting flight from 100% Georgia Farmed Grapes at each
Winery, available both Saturdays from 11:00 to 5:00 and both Sundays
from 12:30 to 5:00. The cost is $15.00 per person and passports may
be purchased at either Winery.
All wine produced by Alliance Members are made to compete with
premium and ultra premium wines produced anywhere in the World.
Alliance Members do not just say they make premium and ultra premium
wines, members seek affirmation of their wines as premium and ultra
premium from the most qualified and recognized judges in the United
States. Members are required to submit their wines to the rigors of
competing against the best wines produced anywhere in the world at
the most prestigious and challenging CALIFORNIA wine competitions.
Each year Alliance Members spend considerable time and expense to
enter wines in GAFWA sanctioned wine competitions. It is the medals
awarded, particularly to wines made from 100% Georgia Farmed Grapes,
at these Major United States Competitions that sets Alliance Members
apart from other Georgia Wineries. With over 200 medals from 2010 to
2014 in major California Wine Competitions between both Founding
Members, this new association is focused on heightening the awareness
of our premium wines grown and produced in the North Georgia
Mountains along the Dahlonega Plateau. We hope to see you soon in the
“Heart of North Georgia’s Wine Country”.
