SUMMARY:Guest Recital: Dr. Josh Holritz\, Violin
DESCRIPTION:The University of North Georgia Department of Music is pleased to present a virtual recital by guest violinist Dr. Josh Holritz. Dr. Holritz will be presenting a virtual recital in which he explores two unaccompanied works by composers J.S. Bach and Lera Auerbach. The Partita No. 2 in d minor (BWV 1004) by Bach is arguably his most well-known composition for solo violin. It's mighty final movement\, the Chaconne\, reveals Bach's undeniable genius as an artist. Auerbach's similarly titled work\, Par.ti.ta\, brings Bach and the Baroque style to the 21st century. Her unique harmonic language is simultaneously accessible and abrasive with musical thought and character that run the full gamut of emotional experience. Dr. Holritz performance will be broadcast on Wednesday\, September 30 at 7:30pm. A link for the performance may be found on the events calendar of the UNG Music Department Website and we encourage you to pre-register your attendance for the event.
