Bear on the Square Looking for a Few Good Volunteers
The Bear on the Square Festival, which this year celebrates its 22nd anniversary, is looking for volunteers to fill two key positions in the organization.
Bear on the Square is Dahlonega's only authentic Appalachian heritage festival, featuring bluegrass and old-time music, a juried artist market, storytelling, dance, day-and-night jam sessions and many other exciting aspects of Appalachian culture.
The key two volunteer positions, for which help is needed, are:
PUBLICITY, which would require some experience in conventional and social media; and
SIGNAGE, which involves production, placement, maintenance and storage of festival signs, with the help of a crew of volunteers, which is already established.
In both work areas, you would be shadowing the current chairs for the 2018 festival in preparation for serving as chair the following year.
Bear on the Square is held annually the third full weekend in April and is a 501(c)3 Cultural Arts
Anyone interested in working as a volunteer with Bear in either of these two positions or would like more information, please email Glenda Pender, Festival President, at email@example.com.
