SUMMARY:North Georgia Chamber Symphony Concert in Dahlonega
DESCRIPTION:Saturday\, May 19th\, 7:30 pm\, Dahlonega United Methodist Church\, Dahlonega\n\n \n\nPlease join us for our Spring Concert! \n\nBela Bartok's Dances of Transylvania is our opener. It's lively\, happy music written from his lifelong collection of folk music. The dances are Bagpipers\, Bear Dance\, and Finale. Our guest soloist is Cellist Noah Johnson\, who frequently plays with us. He will join us on Joseph Haydn's Concerto for Cello and Orchestra in C Major. Next we're playing Benjamin Britten's Simple Symphony\, which is anything but! However\, it's lots of fun to play and to hear. It's called the Simple Symphony because it's from thematic material in the music he wrote as a child. Antonio Vivaldi's Sinfonia in b minor concludes the "classical" pieces. Did you enjoy Downton Abbey? We're playing the lovely Such Good Luck and the Opening Theme\, both of which you'll recognize. We conclude our program with Earl Scruggs' Foggy Mountain Breakdown.\n\nFree admission
